Our history

brings together two winemaking families, Lété-Vautrain & Baron-Fuenté, who are very attached to their values and those of their terroir.

A FAMILY ressemblance

Lété-Vautrain joined Sophie and Ignace Baron in 2011. Out of respect for Lété-Vautrain’s outstanding work, they wanted to preserve the identity and independence of the brand.

EXCLUSIVE WINE GROWER AND MAKER since 1968

The story begins at Château-Thierry in 1968 when Robert Lété and his wife Liliane Vautrain founded the family business.

Over the years, they planted small areas on their original 0.4-hectare plot to progressively reach the 7.5-hectare vineyard of today.

Their daughter, Michèle, and their son, Frédéric, carried on and developed the vineyard and in 2011 they decided to pass it down to a second family in the Champagne region, one which is the deeply rooted in winemaking traditions in the Vallée de la Marne: the Baron-Fuenté family.

Our vineyard

primarily stretches over the villages of Château-Thierry and Essômes-sur-Marne.
We also own two historical vineyards in the village of Leuvrigny, near Epernay.

Environmentally friendly practices

Our environmentally friendly practices are based on: respecting the resources which are naturally available in our ecosystem (interplanting, protecting crops from wild animals, and soil fertility);

Reducing our environmental impact (greenhouse gases, limiting inputs, and protecting water resources);

Preserving the local biodiversity and the diversity of the landscape by creating green spaces that surround out plots (hedges and fallow land);
